Welcome from Mosemarie Boyd

Dear Friends,

Welcome to American Women Presidents.  Promoting the election of women to the U.S. presidency for almost a decade has been an invaluable experience.

Women have been running for the U.S. presidency since 1870.  One of these days, we will succeed.  Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin made great progress for us all in 2008.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped to campaign for a woman for president.

Thank you,

Mosemarie Boyd

About Mosemarie Boyd

Founder of American Women Presidents and its affiliated national political action committees, Mosemarie Boyd is dedicated to electing women to the U.S. presidency.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, Mosemarie Boyd, now Speaker Nancy Pel

Boyd has led a national campaign to elect women to the U.S. presidency—and positions in the pipeline to the presidency—since 2000.

For the 2008 presidential election, Boyd announced American Women Presidents’ endorsement of Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton and Republican Secretary of State for president at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa on President's Day in 2006.

For the 2004 presidential election, Boyd worked to recruit Democratic and Republican women to run for president.  Boyd helped to launch Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun’s presidential campaign at media events in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina on President’s Day weekend in 2003.  She also helped kicked-off the Braun campaign on C-SPAN’s The Road to the White House

Boyd’s efforts to promote women for president have won widespread media coverage.  Boyd promoted Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison for president on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor in 2001 and endorsed now-Sen. Elizabeth Dole and Sen. Dianne Feinstein for vice president on CNN’s Inside Politics in 2000.

In addition, Boyd has worked in the U.S. Senate for Senator Dianne Feinstein and in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congresswoman Corrine Brown and volunteered for women running for Congress in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Boyd earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in American Civilization from Brown University, a master’s degree in National Security Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown, a law degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock, and studied Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s leadership at Oxford University.
